Founder Wayfinding Wisdom
Alice Chen is an executive coach and facilitator with over a decade of experience supporting diverse leaders in government, technology, business, philanthropy and non profit to develop more artful, sustainable and inclusive approaches to leadership.
Her holistic approach considers the ways in which history, identity and power shape our responses to the world and supports her clients to access their agency, sense-make their challenges and act towards their aspirations and our collective well-being within the context of larger systemic dynamics.
In her work, Alice draws inspiration from modern psychology, neuroscience, adult learning & development, emergent strategy, appreciative inquiry, somatics, mutual aid, regenerative economics and various wisdom traditions, as well as her personal experience in activist circles and as a third culture individual.
Alice’s diverse clientele includes leaders from organizations such as Google, Toyota, WellsFargo, Teach for America, Indianapolis Public Schools, The State of Hawai’i, and the Hewlett Foundation.
Alice began her career as an elementary school teacher in Hawai’i and has since embraced a variety of roles, including grant writer, community organizer, arts coordinator, and leadership development director. She holds an undergraduate degree from Wellesley College and a master’s degree in education from the University of Hawai’i, along with a Professional Coaching Certification (PCC) and several specialized coaching credentials.
An avid knitter, sewist, and unabashed k-drama fan, Alice is also a certified yoga and mindfulness teacher. Her favorite topics to geek out on include kimchee making, Polynesian history and wayfinding and obscure animals. After a decade in Silicon Valley, she now now makes her home in the mountains of Asheville, NC where she chases whitewater on weekends with her husband and two dogs.
