Leadership Development & Coaching for Paradigm Shifters & Possibility Makers

What if the leaders our world needs most aren't just smarter — but wiser?

At Wayfinding Wisdom, we believe the most powerful leadership doesn't come from having all the answers — it comes from knowing how to navigate toward them.

We partner with leaders across sectors and stages — executives, founders, organizational teams, and individuals at pivotal moments — to develop the wisdom, clarity, and courage to lead with greater authenticity and impact. Our work integrates ancient navigation traditions with cutting-edge leadership practice, drawing on intellect and intuition, data and lived experience, strategy and soul.

Alice Chen, MEdT CPC — executive coach and founder of Wayfinding Wisdom

About Our Founder

I'm Alice Chen (MEdT, CPC). For over 15 years I've partnered with leaders across sectors and stages — from C-suites and founding teams to individuals navigating pivotal moments of growth and transition.

My approach blends ancient wisdom traditions rooted in Polynesian wayfinding with cutting-edge leadership practice, drawing on my background in education, organizational development, community organizing, and the arts. It particularly resonates with creative, values-driven leaders — women, leaders of color, third culture individuals — who are ready to lead from their full, integrated selves.

“When people come together around a common vision, they can accomplish great things. We need the instruments that pull our people together, not apart.”

— Nainoa Thompson, Hawaiian Master Navigator

The Wayfinding Approach:

Seven Dimensions of Wisdom-Led Leadership

  • Connecting to Your Inner Compass

Some call this "intuition" and "gut feeling"; others call it "inner knowing." We call it the internal navigation system that guides you when maps and strategies fall short.

  • Cultivating Resilience & Renewal

Some call this "bouncing back" and "sustainable leadership"; others call it "recovering your footing." We call it the capacity to replenish what gets depleted, return to the work renewed, and stay in the journey for the long haul.

  • Developing Attunement & Embracing Emergence

Some call this "nuanced attention" and "adaptive learning"; others call it "reading the room and rolling with it." We call it the twin capacities to read subtle signals with discernment and stay open to what unfolds — knowing when to hold steady and when to let the path surprise you.

  • Navigating By Multiple Constellations

Some call this "systems thinking" and "inclusive leadership"; others call it "360-degree vision." We call it the capacity to see patterns and possibilities that emerge when we honor diverse perspectives.

  • Making Meaning in Uncertainty

Some call this "sensemaking" and "tolerating ambiguity"; others call it "sitting with not-knowing." We call it the rare and essential capacity to find the through-line when the terrain keeps shifting — and to help others do the same.

  • Cultivating Authentic Connection

Some call this "emotional intelligence" and "relationship building"; others call it "empathetic leadership." We call it the art of creating spaces and communities where trust flourishes, differences are honored, and collective wisdom can emerge through genuine dialogue.

  • Taking Wise Action

Some call this "strategic execution" and "adaptability"; others call it "mindful leadership." We call it moving forward with intention while remaining responsive to what's emerging around you.
