A Community of Like-Minded Humans
Who are supporting each other in their creative expression.
The mindsets we hold around creativity and the conditions we create for our creativity lead to common behaviors and outcomes that work in opposition to what we want to create. Learn more about what you’ll be learning and unlearning in our time together:
- Needing to Know: I need to know all/more of the steps before I take action. I need to know how this will turn out before I get started.
- Perfectionism: Whatever I’m doing or creating needs to be perfect…now.
- Optimization: Whatever I’m doing or creating needs to be optimized and efficient…now.
- All-Or-Nothing: Go big or go home. Put all of your eggs in one basket. Do it all at once. Take big action. Fail big! All or nothing.
- Fear: I’m afraid. I should stop! Or just plow right through.
- Goal Obsession: If I create X or reach Y then all my problems will go away
- Excessive Efforting: I need to make this happen through sheer sweat and tears.
- Expectations: Of My Own and Others.
- Sourcing inspiration (reading, listening, learning, being in nature)
- Structuring your approach to the creative process through right-sized and right-ordered action
- Focusing your attention
- Being in service through your creative endeavors
- Listening to your inner voice and intuition
- Nourishing yourself (sleep, rest, play, movement, food, hobbies, nature, etc)
- Being in touch with body sensations (somatics)
- Managing fear, expectations, self talk (self compassion, boundary setting, mindfulness practices)

OUR SAIL PLAN
Session 1: Meeting Your Crew and Preparing for the Journey
At the outset of a journey, we often “jump in” and “get started” immediately without taking time to prepare ourselves or build the relationships we need to resource and sustain ourselves over time. We’ll practice unlearning this habit by taking time to “arrive” to this experience, getting to know each other, and preparing for the journey ahead.
September 19
2 hrs, live group
Session 2: Attuning to Your Inner Voice
Pressure from culture, family, workplace, and society can lead us to disconnect from ourselves, tune out our truths and make choices about our lives and careers that aren’t right for us and don’t support our health and well being. We’ll identify the source of our personal “musts” and “shoulds” and begin to discern what we’re being invited to compost and unwind from during this period of transition.
September 26
2 hrs, live group
Session 3: Locating Yourself & Wayfinding
We often push away from the discomfort of transitions by moving to action quickly without taking the time to understand where we really are – mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. We’ll practice unlearning this habit by “locating” ourselves, “mapping” our ecosystem, and trying on “wayfinding” as a way to discern what kind of relationships, work, and practices are right for us in this next stage of life.
October 3
2 hrs, live group
Session 4: Small Group Integration & Coaching
As we explore a new approaches to navigating life transitions, feelings, insights, actions, and impulses that we can’t currently predict will arise. We often don’t hold space proactively to process, integrate, and savor what we are learning and discovering. We’ll practice unlearning this habit by taking time in small groups to notice, feel, hang out with, make meaning of, and respond to whatever is arising for us.
October 10
2 hrs, live group
Session 5: Finding, Framing, & Living Questions
In times of transition, we often want the destination and path forward to show itself quickly and clearly, which causes us to focus on “getting answers” – sometimes to questions we haven’t even articulated. We’ll take time to identify the deeper questions that are arising within us about our lives, careers, and community and explore how we might “live into” our answers gradually over time.
October 17
2 hrs, live group
Session 6: Exploring Resonance
We are often encouraged to rely on our brains to make decisions and to distrust and dismiss other sources of knowing, like our bodies, emotions, and intuition. This can cause us to make decisions that “make sense” but don’t “feel right.” We’ll practice unlearning this habit by trying on more “holistic” forms of decision-making and learning how to identify and follow “resonance” in our system in order to discern what kind of career, community, and life is right for us.
October 24
2 hrs, live group
Session 7: Getting Curious About Resistance
We are often conditioned to ignore discomfort, push past it, or make meaning of it in ways that keep us stuck. We’ll practice getting curious about the various forms of “resistance” that arise in our systems as we explore what’s “right for us,” and learn how to use that resistance as a tool to refine our understanding of what we want in our next season of life.
October 31
2 hrs, live group
Session 8: Small Group Integration & Coaching
We’ll meet again in facilitated small groups to process, integrate, and savor what we are learning and discovering.
November 7
2 hrs, live group
Session 9: Responding to What's Arriving to Your Boat While Keeping an Eye on the Horizon
We often want or feel like we are supposed to make decisions, figure out the answers, and handle all the things all at once. We’ll practice unlearning this habit by exploring how to be with our fear of the unknown and trying on the idea of “keeping our eye on the horizon while handling what’s arriving to our boat right now.”
November 14
2 hrs, live group
Session 10: Ending Well
Endings can be uncomfortable, and we often avoid or rush through them. In the process we miss opportunities to learn how to end well. We’ll practice unlearning this habit by taking intentional time for completion – acknowledging and celebrating the journey we’ve been on, what we’ve experienced and discovered, how we’ve grown and changed, what’s on the horizon, and what still remains a mystery to live into.
November 21
2 hrs, live group
*BONUS MODULE* Designing an Intentional Sabbatical
As people experience life transitions coupled with burnout, sabbaticals that invite them to think differently about how they relate to “work” and “working” are becoming increasingly common. In this bonus module, you’ll be introduced to a sabbatical design process that can support you in planning intentional time away and challenging the idea that work is the center of the universe.

*BONUS MODULE* – Embracing Your Nature & Leaning On Your Strengths
We often make life transitions harder for ourselves by focusing on our deficits, holding unrealistic expectations, and pressuring ourselves to change rapidly. In this bonus module, we’ll talk about what it can mean and look like to honor your “nature” and embrace who you are right now, while simultaneously leaning on your strengths to grow over time.
